Tagra Golf Simulator Lighting Kit – White COB

A complete, ready-to-install lighting kit for your golf simulator room. Everything you need arrives in one box – strip, driver, controller, remote and cable – matched and guaranteed to work together, so there is no sourcing compatible parts yourself and no guesswork over driver sizing.

Built around Tagra’s Professional COB LED strip. Chip-on-Board technology places the LEDs under a continuous phosphor coating, producing a single seamless line of light rather than a row of visible dots. In a simulator bay, where the lighting sits close to the eye line and washes across the screen surround, that difference is immediately obvious.

Why Buy the Complete Kit?

Buying LED strip on its own is where most simulator lighting projects go wrong. The strip is the easy part – the driver has to be correctly rated for the run length, the controller has to match the strip type, and the cable has to carry the load. Get any one of those wrong and you end up with flicker, colour shift, a driver running hot, or a strip that simply will not light at the far end.

This kit removes that problem entirely. Choose your colour temperature and your run length, and every component is specified to suit.

Colour Rendering

With a CRI above 90, this strip renders colour close to natural daylight. In a simulator that matters more than it sounds – it keeps the ball, your clubface and the on-screen course looking true rather than washed out or tinted, which is exactly what you want when you are reading a lie or lining up a shot.

Choosing Your Colour Temperature

Temperature Best For
2700K – Warm White The warmest option. Creates a relaxed, lounge-like feel – well suited to a bar or entertaining space built around the simulator.
3000K – Warm White A softer, homely light. A good choice where the simulator sits within a living space rather than a dedicated room.
4000K – Natural White (most popular) Our recommendation for most simulator builds. Clear, neutral light with no colour cast across the screen, so the projected image stays true.
6500K – Cool White The brightest, crispest option. Best where the room doubles as a workshop or gym and you need maximum task visibility.

Choosing Your Length

Length Typical Use
5m A single run – typically across the top of the enclosure or along one wall.
10m Enough to frame the screen surround, or run two facing walls in a compact bay.
12m A full perimeter run in a typical single-bay simulator room.
15m Larger rooms, garden studios and cabin builds, or where you want a second run at floor level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy anything else?
No. The kit includes the strip, a correctly rated driver, the controller, the remote and the low voltage cable. The only decision left is whether to add the aluminium channel and diffuser, which you select above. The strip has 3M adhesive backing, so no additional fixings are needed for a basic installation.
Do I need the aluminium profile?
It is optional, but we recommend it. The channel draws heat away from the strip, which extends its life, and the diffuser softens the light so you see an even glow rather than the strip itself. It also gives a far cleaner finish where the lighting is visible. If the strip is being hidden inside a coving or behind a pelmet, you can go without.
What colour temperature should I choose for a golf simulator?
4000K natural white is the safest choice and the one we fit most often. It gives clear, neutral light without throwing a warm or blue cast over the projected image. Go warmer (2700K or 3000K) if the room is a social space as much as a practice bay. Go cooler (6500K) if you need bright task lighting.
Will the lighting interfere with my launch monitor?
Camera-based launch monitors need consistent, even lighting to track the ball reliably, and this is exactly where COB strip performs well – it produces a continuous wash rather than the pulsing hot spots you get from cheaper tape. As a general rule, aim the light at the walls and ceiling rather than directly down at the hitting area, and avoid pointing anything straight into the camera.
Can I cut the strip to length?
Yes. This is a free-cutting strip with cut points every 29.41mm, so you can trim it to fit your run. Cut only at the marked points, and note that cutting does not reduce the driver requirement for the length you have installed.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes. The included Tagra 5-in-1 controller supports both RF 2.4GHz and Wi-Fi, so you can use the supplied 4-zone remote or control the lighting from the app.
