Designed specifically to sit underneath our Premium Putting Turf and Standard Putting Turf, this underlay provides cushioning on hard surfaces such as concrete, timber, tiles and decking, making your putting area softer and more comfortable underfoot without affecting ball roll.

Designed to Pair With Our Putting Turf

This underlay is sized to match our putting turf range. Both the Premium 14mm Nylon and Standard 16mm Polyethylene turf are supplied on 4m wide rolls. The foam underlay is supplied on a 2m wide roll, so each order includes two strips laid side by side to cover the full 4m width of your turf. Simply select the same mยฒ as your turf size.

Why Use Underlay?

If your putting turf is being laid onto a hard, flat surface such as a concrete garage floor, timber decking or tiled patio, the foam underlay makes a noticeable difference. It softens the surface underfoot, reduces fatigue during longer practice sessions, and provides a small amount of shock absorption that takes the edge off hard flooring.

The underlay also helps to even out minor surface imperfections, giving your turf a smoother, more consistent base to sit on. This results in a truer ball roll and a more professional finish to your putting area.

Material & Construction

Manufactured from 10mm closed-cell foam with a non-woven PET backing, this underlay is lightweight at just 390g/mยฒ yet offers effective cushioning and durability. The closed-cell structure means it does not absorb water, while the material provides water permeability of over 600mm/h, allowing drainage to pass through without pooling. UV stabilised and thermally stable, it will not degrade or shrink over time.

Installation

Ensure your existing surface is clean, dry and in good condition. Roll out the foam underlay strips side by side to cover the full width of your putting area, then lay your putting turf directly on top. The underlay sits flat under its own weight and the weight of the turf, so no adhesive is required in most installations. For permanent installations, double-sided tape can be used around the edges.

If your putting turf is being laid on a hard surface such as concrete, timber or tiles, underlay is recommended. If you’re laying on carpet or a softer surface, underlay is optional but still beneficial.
Which size do I need?
Simply match the mยฒ to your putting turf size. For example, if you’ve ordered a 3 x 4m turf (12mยฒ), select the 12mยฒ underlay option. The underlay is supplied as two 2m-wide strips that sit side by side to cover the full 4m width of your turf.
Will the underlay affect my ball roll?
No. The 10mm foam is firm enough to provide a stable base for your turf without creating any bounce or unevenness that would affect putting accuracy. In fact, by smoothing out minor floor imperfections, it can actually improve the consistency of your ball roll.
