Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for a golf simulator at home?

At minimum, you need a launch monitor, an impact screen, a projector, a hitting mat, and a PC or tablet to run the simulation software. For a dedicated space, our Golf Den cabins or panel systems provide a purpose-built room. We also offer complete packages with everything included.

What size room do I need for a golf simulator?

The minimum practical space is about 3m wide × 4m deep × 2.7m high. This allows a full driver swing with clearance. Our smallest cabin, The Nano, is 4.3m × 3.2m — purpose-designed as the minimum comfortable footprint. For a more spacious setup with seating, we recommend 5m × 4m or larger.

Do I need planning permission for a golf simulator building?

It depends on the height and position. Golf simulator cabins typically exceed the 2.5m height limit for permitted development, so planning permission is usually required. Our team handles planning guidance as part of the design consultation process.

Which launch monitor is best for home golf simulation?

For most home users, the Foresight GC3 or SkyTrak+ offer the best balance of accuracy and value. For budget setups, the Square Golf at £700 is excellent. See our complete launch monitor buying guide.

How much does a golf simulator cost in the UK?

A basic practice net setup costs £400–£1,000. An entry-level simulator with enclosure and mid-range launch monitor costs £2,500–£5,000. A premium indoor setup costs £10,000–£20,000. A dedicated purpose-built Golf Den cabin with full technology costs £15,000–£30,000+. See our full pricing guide.
