Tagra Golf Simulator Lighting Kit – RGBW COB

The most flexible lighting kit in the range, and the one we fit most often. Full RGB colour mixing for atmosphere, plus a dedicated white channel for proper, usable light to play under – all from a single strip, on a single controller.

Everything arrives together: strip, driver, controller, remote and cable, matched and guaranteed to work as a system. Choose your white temperature and your run length, and every component is specified to suit.

Why the White Channel Matters

Plain RGB strip can make a white by driving red, green and blue together, but it is always an approximation – it tends to look faintly blue or pink, it renders colour poorly, and it is not a light you would want to actually play under. RGBW adds a fourth, genuine white LED alongside the colour channels.

In practice that means one installation does both jobs. Clean, neutral white while you are hitting balls and recording data, then a full colour wash the moment you switch over for a session with friends. You are not choosing between a functional room and an impressive one.

Seamless COB Light

Chip-on-Board technology places the LEDs under a continuous phosphor coating, producing one smooth, unbroken line of light rather than the row of visible dots you get from traditional SMD tape. At 840 LEDs per metre there is no dotting, no shadowing and no colour fringing – which matters most in exactly the place simulator lighting tends to sit, close to the eye line and washing across the screen surround.

Choosing Your White Temperature

Option Best For
RGB + 3000K – Warm White A relaxed, lounge-like white that sits comfortably alongside warm colour scenes. The right choice where the simulator doubles as a bar or entertaining space.
RGB + 6500K – Cool White Bright, crisp and neutral. The better choice if you genuinely want to light the room to play in rather than just set a mood.

Choosing Your Length

Length Typical Use
5m A single run – typically across the top of the enclosure or along one wall.
10m Enough to frame the screen surround, or run two facing walls in a compact bay.
12m A full perimeter run in a typical single-bay simulator room.
15m Larger rooms, garden studios and cabin builds, or where you want a second run at floor level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between RGBW and plain RGB?
RGB creates white by mixing red, green and blue together, which is always an approximation – it usually looks slightly tinted and renders colours poorly. RGBW adds a fourth, genuine white LED, so you get a clean, accurate white light as well as the full colour range. If you want a single lighting installation that works both for playing and for atmosphere, RGBW is the one to choose.
Can I run the white and the colour at the same time?
Yes. The white channel is independent of the RGB channels, so you can run white on its own, colour on its own, or blend the two – for example a warm white base with a subtle colour tint behind the screen.
Do I need to buy anything else?
No. The kit includes the strip, a correctly rated driver, the multi-channel controller, the RGB+W remote and the 5-core low voltage cable. The only decision left is whether to add the aluminium channel and diffuser, which you select above.
Do I need the aluminium profile?
It is optional, but we recommend it. The channel draws heat away from the strip, which extends its life, and the diffuser blends the colour and white output into an even glow rather than a visible line of LEDs. It also gives a far cleaner finish where the lighting is on show. If the strip is hidden inside a coving or behind a pelmet, you can go without.
Will the lighting interfere with my launch monitor?
This is exactly where RGBW earns its keep. Camera-based launch monitors track best under consistent, neutral light, so run the white channel while you are hitting and recording data, then switch to colour once you are done. As a general rule, aim the light at the walls and ceiling rather than straight down at the hitting area, and never point it directly into the camera.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes. The included Tagra 5-in-1 controller supports both RF 2.4GHz and Wi-Fi, so you can use the supplied 4-zone RGB+W remote or control white, colour, scenes and effects from the app.
