The BenQ AK800ST is BenQ’s first AI-enhanced golf simulator projector. It keeps the short throw lens and compact footprint that made the AK700ST so popular, and adds 5000 lumens of laser brightness, an onboard AI processing engine and Auto Screen Fit 2.0, which lines the image up on flat or curved impact screens at the press of a button. True 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), HDR10/HLG and 97% Rec. 709 colour coverage make it just as good for films, live sport and gaming as it is for golf.

BenQ’s AI Sim Sense processing works on the picture from your launch monitor software in real time. AI Super Resolution upscales it to 4K, AI-Enhanced Contrast lifts standard content towards HDR quality, and AI Noise Reduction cleans up artefacts, so fairways, rough and bunkers show real texture and depth.

Auto Screen Fit 2.0 for Flat and Curved Screens

The AK800ST uses a time-of-flight sensor and an onboard camera to detect the shape of your impact screen, then focuses, sizes and warps the image to fit it. It works with curved screens as well as flat ones. Screen Fill offers six native resolutions (16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and 1:1), so the image fills a golf-ratio screen without black bars or resolution loss. Golf Scene Memory saves up to five complete display setups, so you can switch between golf and a 16:9 film in seconds.

Short Throw Lens for Safe Swings

With a 0.69–0.83 throw ratio, 102.5% offset and a motorised 1.2x optical zoom, the AK800ST sits safely behind the golfer, out of the swing path and away from shadows. A 120-inch image needs roughly 1.8–2.2 metres, and BenQ quotes a 300-inch 4K image from just 4.6 metres. The motorised zoom and one-touch autofocus are both adjusted from the remote, so you can fine-tune the picture without climbing up to the projector.

Brighter Picture, Truer Golf Colours

5000 ANSI lumens and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio keep the course bright and punchy, even with the room lights on. BenQ’s exclusive Golf Mode and HDR Golf mode are tuned to reproduce the natural greens, sand and water of real courses, and the Ambient Visual Enhancer adjusts colour automatically as the light in the room changes.

Built to Last

The laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in Eco mode, with no lamps to replace. An IP5X dust-sealed engine and 0–40°C operating range make it well suited to garage, outbuilding and garden-room simulators.

Low Input Lag & Connectivity

Input lag is as low as 4.8ms at 1080p/240Hz (9.7ms at 1080p/120Hz, 18.1ms at 4K/60Hz), with Auto Low Latency Mode for gaming. Three HDMI 2.1 inputs (HDCP 2.3), LAN, RS232, two USB-A ports, 3D sync out, a 3.5mm audio out and HDMI eARC with 7.1-channel audio return cover every kind of setup. Wireless casting from iOS, Google Cast and Miracast devices is available with the optional EZC-5201BS dongle.
